Sleep deprivation can be overwhelming for many parents especially if your baby is very unsettled at night or does not have a consistent routine. It may be that you are just exhausted from the day to day caring for your baby and feeding at night is taking its toll. This is when many people call in the help of a night nanny to take over part of the night feeding therefore giving you a much needed restful night’s sleep. Just having a few nights of uninterrupted sleep can make so much difference in the lives of many parents. After all sleep is a basic human need and a lack of sleep really does have an impact on us mentally and physically.
What is a night nanny?
A night nanny is an experienced or qualified baby nanny. All night nannies will have worked with small babies for at least three years either in a nursery setting or in a private home. Not all night nannies will hold a qualification although some will hold maternity related qualifications or an NNEB qualification.
What does a night nanny do?
A night nanny can be provided for parents who are feeling sleep deprived and exhausted and just looking for someone to take over the night feeding of their baby/babies. A night nanny will be with you over a 10 hour night and can either take over the feeds for the night or can support a mother while breastfeeding. If you are breastfeeding you can either express your milk for the night feeds or the night nanny will bring the baby to you at night for a feed. Once you have breast fed your baby the night nanny will then wind, change and settle your baby back to sleep. A night nanny can be booked for 1 – 5 nights per week . We provide night nannies in London, Kent, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Essex and suffolk.
What checks are carried out at happy babies?
All the night nannies at happy babies will hold a full police check, a baby first aid certificate; at least four Night nanny baby related references as well as a background of working with children for at least three years. All night nanny addresses and ID’s are checked as well as all qualifications. You can be assured that all our night nannies are thoroughly checked.
